Project Co-Lead
San Clemente Island Predator Research & Ecosystem Management

Research/Career Interests

I work for IWS as a member of the Predator Research and Ecosystem Management crew on San Clemente Island. I started as a predator biologist in June 2020 and was assigned my current position as crew lead in May 2021. In December 2022 I took over the roll of Co-Project Leader. Our crew is primarily tasked with controlling invasive predator populations, managing the risks native predators pose to endemic fauna, and monitoring the abundance of common prey species on the island. Secondarily, we assist all other IWS crews on San Clemente Island as the need arises. This diverse work experience includes nursing sick and injured island foxes back to health, deploying nest cameras within seabird nesting habitat, repairing or maintaining various vehicles and facilities, and much more.

I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. In my free time I enjoy spear fishing, recreational target shooting, playing guitar and reading.
