Steve Munoz
Crew Leader
San Clemente Bell’s Sparrow Monitoring Project
Education
B.S. in Wildlife Management, University of Missouri; 2010
Research/Interests
I started working for IWS in February of 2013 as a seasonal sparrow technician. I was hired on as a full-time biologist that same year. In the summer of 2015 I became the crew leader for the Bell’s sparrow crew. With our monitoring efforts of the San Clemente Bell’s sparrow we can officially say it is de-listed from the endangered species list.
I have worked in a variety of habitats in the conservation field, such as monitoring grey bat colonies in Missouri’s cave systems, monitoring American goshawks in Utah’s mountain range, and monitoring tree swallows on Tennessee’s river system.
