Research/Interests:
II work for IWS as a member of the Predator Research and Ecosystem Management program for San Clemente Island. Our primary goal is to control invasive predator populations in order to protect native species such as the San Clemente Island Bell's Sparrow, San Clemente Loggerhead Shrike, and the Island Fox.
My background in natural resources spans various roles, including positions as an ecological field monitoring crew lead, Farm Bill wildlife biologist, elk hunting guide, sage grouse technician, off-highway vehicle ranger, and aquatic invasives technician. I have spent many seasons working and leading teams in the backcountry, developing conservation plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and monitoring our wildlife populations. In addition to my conservation experience I have worked in the agriculture field for many years as a poultry farmer, Perdue Farms technician, Burnett County agriculture program technician, and with the Indiana State Poultry Association. I believe my diversity of experience within natural resources and land management offers a unique outlook to managing wildlife and habitat.
In my free time I enjoy traveling to new places and making new memories with those I care about. I have always been an avid hunter and outdoorsman and spend much of my free time hiking and camping with my husband and two dogs.
